The service

ZappyQ lets hosts create quizzes — by hand or with the built-in AI generator — and run them as live games that players join from their own devices by scanning a QR code or entering a PIN. Playing is always free and requires no account. Building quizzes does not require an account either: they are kept on your device until you sign up. Hosting a live game requires an account: every account starts on the free plan, and the Host Plan unlocks full-size games, as described below.

Your account

You need an account to host live games; players never do, and you can build quizzes without one. When you create an account you agree to provide accurate information and to keep your login credentials safe. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so tell us right away at legal@zappyq.com if you suspect someone else is using it.

Acceptable use

Do not use ZappyQ for anything unlawful, and do not create or host content that is abusive, harassing, hateful, or otherwise harmful. Remember that quizzes are often shown on shared screens in classrooms and workplaces — write accordingly. A built-in profanity filter helps keep nicknames family-friendly, but it is a safety net, not a substitute for judgment.

We may remove games or quizzes that violate these rules, and in serious or repeated cases suspend or close the account responsible.

Your content

Quizzes you create are yours — ZappyQ claims no ownership of your questions, answers, or other material. To run the service we need a limited licence to store your content, process it, and display it to the players in your games, and, if you use the AI generator, to send your prompt to our AI provider. That licence exists only to operate ZappyQ and ends when your content is deleted. Make sure you have the right to use the material you add, for example text you paste into the AI generator.

Free plan and Host Plan

Every new account starts on the free plan, and no credit card is needed. On the free plan you can build an unlimited number of quizzes with all six question types, use the AI generator for 10 generations in total, host live games with up to 25 players and see reports on screen. The free plan has no time limit; these limits apply until you get the Host Plan.

The Host Plan costs $9.99 per month. The currency follows the country you buy from: 99 kr in Sweden, £8.99 in the United Kingdom, €9.99 in the rest of Europe and $9.99 everywhere else. Prices for consumers in the EU, the UK and Sweden include VAT. The plan is billed monthly through Stripe, and your card details never touch our servers. The Host Plan removes the player cap, includes 200 AI generations per month and unlocks CSV export. Everything else is included on both the free plan and the Host Plan.

You can cancel at any time through the billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep your Host Plan features until then. We do not refund partial periods, except where the law requires it.

Players are never charged. Joining and playing a game is free for everyone, whatever plan the host is on, and players never need an account.

AI-generated content

The AI generator drafts questions from the topic or text you provide. AI can make mistakes: drafts may contain factual errors or awkward phrasing, and they are provided as-is. Always review AI-generated questions before hosting them. You are responsible for the content of the quizzes you host, including any AI-generated questions you choose to keep.

Availability

We work to keep ZappyQ fast and reliable, but the service is provided on a best-effort basis without a guaranteed service level (no SLA). We may change, suspend, or discontinue features, and maintenance may occasionally interrupt games in progress.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Expi AB's total liability for claims arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Swedish law. Disputes are handled by Swedish courts, unless mandatory consumer protection rules in your country of residence say otherwise.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. Changes are announced on the site and published on this page with a new date at the top. If you keep using ZappyQ after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms.
